Job Description:

The HR Business Partner is an integral part of the Human Resources team at New York Media, and will work closely with the Head of Human Resources to drive a talent strategy aligned to the vision for how the company will grow into the future. This is a particularly exciting time to be joining the organization in this capacity as the company is in the midst of driving a transformation focused on connecting the vision for the organization's future with the employee experience. The role is a “jack of all trades” role and calls upon the successful candidate to demonstrate strong proficiency in HR fundamentals while simultaneously engaging in the design and implementation of key talent management programs.

  • Partner with the Head of Human Resources to drive the development, implementation, and facilitation of organization development and talent management programs and initiatives to meet the specific business needs of the organization.
  • Influence and shape the change agenda, including organization and structural changes; self-identify obstacles and develop strategies to overcome them.
  • Coach managers to pro-actively manage associates (e.g. addressing performance issues) and provide counsel to resolve disciplinary issues.
  • Advocate and facilitate resolutions regarding employee relations issues, with escalation to the Head of Human Resources, where necessary.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and management of compensation initiatives (e.g. incentive plan design, job analysis & salary grading, institution of a meritocracy-based compensation philosophy) to ensure that compensation practices are linked in the overall strategy to attract, reward, and retain top talent.
  • Prepares data analyses and key metrics that support the use of data to make informed decisions around our people and organization.
  • Drive key talent processes within client groups, including annual performance and incentive planning and review and the talent review process.
  • Generate a variety of reports as requested by HR, Finance, and other business leaders.
  • Assist with other special projects where needed.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
  • Knowledge of applicable financial, legal, and operational rules and laws
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; advanced Excel skills, in particular
