Ultimately this person will increase our subject matter expertise and efficiency of our business architecture and program management and will build strong relationships with key stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesThis position will have 4-8 direct reports and be responsible indirectly for approximately a 100-person team globally, including contractor and vendor resources. As a result, the location of this position could be Minneapolis, Boston or London and will be expected to have significant travel. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the securities industry, preferably asset management, and will work collaboratively across the enterprise and among Senior Leadership.This position will have a significant impact on Columbia Threadneedle Investments in the way we execute projects as a highly valued enterprise asset thus enabling optimal business architecture design and efficiency quality and agility-for the benefit of our organization.Specific Responsibilities* Ensure the global change delivery capability is fit for purpose by evaluating it in conjunction with the management team, delivery partners and customer stakeholders. Consider and adjust the structure, approach and capabilities of the change delivery function. Seek customer feedback to help focus improvements on an ongoing basis.* Drive the investment planning process for Columbia Threadneedle. Interact directly with Executive Leadership Team at CTI and Ameriprise to guide decision making, allocate resources and solve complex problems supported by the right analysis and stakeholder inputs. Engage in industry forums to identify and support innovation at Columbia Threadneedle.* Lead a team of seasoned business architects and other relevant stakeholders to consider solutioning in the context of the current and target global architecture, analyzing and making decisions regarding the most effective design for implementation of systems changes and associated operating model changes. This team will have significant expertise in asset management or financial services, business operations and technology applications and will partner with business and technology leaders.* Establish and lead centers of excellence (COE) to drive standards and competence in key change functions, covering project management, requirements capture, solutioning and testing. By driving suitable best practices, these COE functions will support various aspects of the delivery lifecycle in achieving a structured and consistent approach.* Tailor the execution approach for each program according to size, complexity and type of change, delivering the expected outcomes with high quality and efficiency. Design and implement standards for consistent program management, reporting and governance.* Develop and execute a resourcing strategy that leverages an appropriate mix of internal and external resources able to drive highly effective and cost-effective execution of programs. The resourcing strategy should also support knowledge retention, relationship building and the alignment of best fit competences to the work in hand.* Build strong, highly engaged teams with a culture of client support and a focus on maintaining key controls. Maintain relevant expertise locally while leveraging cost-effective locations to manage efficiency goals.Required QualificationsSpecific qualifications will include:* 10+ years of securities industry experience, preferably asset management and knowledge/leadership of business processes and technology* Demonstrated experience and success as a change agent, including leading large, global change initiatives* Ability and confidence to influence executive leadership with credibility based on experience* Proven ability to execute well in a fast-paced and challenging business, large consulting firm experience preferred* Proven ability to build a talented team that gets the job done with positive and engaging leadership* Excellent communication and influencing skills and ability to navigate all levels of an organization to drive decision-making and execution* Bachelor's degree, master's preferredPreferred QualificationsThe successful candidate is an experienced, confident leader who is comfortable and effective at all levels of the organization.
