Apex Systems is looking for a Data Engineer with Data Governance Experience to work with one of the country's top aircraft engine suppliers in Cincinnati, OH

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead & execute program to ensure data compliance, protection and privacy while business level priorities are met.
  • Modernize, develop and operationalize AOS (Aviation Operating System) and Data Lake governance processes to effectively manage enterprise data risks.
  • Including data governance, operating model, data policies and standards. The program must be innovative, align to agile methods and enable the business to meet its outcomes.
  • Proactively partner with product teams, to understand future roadmaps, identify potential risks and potential solutions.
  • Become a subject matter expert on data use and protection requirements of internal, external, customer and supplier data.
  • Identify data within the respective data domain, determine its ownership, and assess the risk associated with the data as needed.
  • Accountable for ensuring visibility into metrics that demonstrate ongoing program effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership by influencing compliance and risk culture as it relates to business- wide digital transformation initiatives.
  • Accountable for communication, implementation, and oversight of compliance policies and initiatives for the AOS team members

Desired Characteristics

  • Understanding the underlying technologies needed to enable secure and data innovation across a large organization.
  • Experience with secure architectures, identity and access management principles, application security, encryption technologies, privacy
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively analyze and solve complex problems including visualizing them in meaningful ways
  • Exceptional communication skills with technical and non-technical communities
  • Proven ability to persuade and influence outcomes
  • Capable, contemporary leader with extensive matrixed team working abilities
  • Experience interacting & engaging directly with all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to coordinate and influence large groups.
