Electrical Controls Engineer

Responsibilities:
  • Provide control system support to automated production lines
  • Assist maintenance technicians with additional troubleshooting
  • Utilize problem solving skills to determine and address root cause as needed
  • Lead and implement moderate machine program modifications as required for safety, quality or productivity improvements
  • Revise electrical schematics as needed
  • Follow company procedures and specifications

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science - Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 2-4 years engineering experience, preferably in programmable automation
  • Experience with basic electrical components such as sensors, motors, indicators, circuit protection, etc.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), motion (Kinetix), drives (PowerFlex) and visualization/operator interfaces (PanelView, FactoryTalk View Studio)
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation RsLogix and Studio programming software
  • Experience reading electrical schematics
  • Knowledge or experience with AutoCAD or Mechanical Desktop
  • Self-motivated and able to learn quickly
  • Shows an understanding of engineering and scientific methodologies and their successful application at an intermediate level of technical application.
  • Understands and applies methodologies associated with project planning
  • Communicates with vendors (i.e. to coordinate quotes, prototypes and production plans)
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively apply acquired knowledge, skills and abilities to a variety of assignments within a moderate range of technical difficulty
  • Good oral and written communication skills
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with Ethernet networks
  • Experience with robotics (preferably Fanuc)
  • Knowledge of discrete manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Knowledge of UL508A industrial control panels & NFPA79
  • Fenestration / Window product knowledge a plus
