Position Summary

This position will provide accounting, costing and financial reporting services to the North America Fire Retardant Additives business.  The successful candidate must be able to perform complex analysis and modeling for financial decisions. This includes analyses of North American plant operations, budgets and major investments. This role is responsible for direct supervision of plant resources and will provide guidance to North American plant cost accounting functions. This person will ensure the consistent application of cost accounting treatment, variance package design and finance process improvements across North America. Collaborate with Finance Director – Europe/Asia for consistent application of cost accounting policies and procedures which may include global consolidation of cost data and financial reporting.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Review and analyze North American product line profitability and coordinate with Finance Director – Europe/Asia FRA to consolidate global data for product line profitability analysis.

Gather and compile cost data required for management decisions concerning production, cost, and project improvement.  Collect, calculate, analyze, and summarize cost data.

Ensure related operating and financial reports are submitted on a timely basis.  Initiate new and maintain existing reports as necessary.  Provide oversight for all North American plants related operating and financial reports. Review/approve all North American monthly variance packages.

Provide North American plant monthly financial forecasts and reporting package as required and directed. Lead monthly capex forecast discussion with North American Operations Director and CFO - Global FRA.  Coordinate with Finance Director – Europe/Asia FRA CFO – FRA SBU to consolidate global financial forecast as required and directed.

With the CFO – FRA SBU, lead development of the North American FRA Budgeting to include revenue, freight, manufacturing cost plans, and capital.  Prepare reporting packages for budgets as necessary. Finalize input and submit on a timely basis.

Assist with the preparation and analysis of individual North American Capital appropriation request as necessary. 

Provide oversight for good internal controls at North American FRA plant locations. Maintain North American FRA plant site accounting policy and procedure manuals.  Ensure adherence and update as necessary.  Report weaknesses and consult with the Global Controller and CFO – FRA SBU with suggested issues and remedies.

Supervise/oversee North American FRA physical inventory counts and ensure proper inventory valuation.     

Required Skills and Experience

Advanced excel user with financial modeling experience

Individual should be knowledgeable in the areas of: general accounting, capital budgeting and project accounting, payroll accounting, standard cost accounting, budgeting and financial analysis, computerized spreadsheets, and corporate policies and procedures.

Job requires both scheduled and unscheduled overtime and some weekend work.

Individual should have direct supervisory experience.

Approximately quarterly domestic and occasional international travel required.

Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
