Andersen Corporation has an opening for a Quality Engineer at the Bayport, Minnesota manufacturing location. This position will be supporting the Goodyear plant and will be responsible for understanding customer feedback and driving quality improvement in the manufacturing process, specifically within 100 Series. Areas of focus include: quality improvement, customer satisfaction, supplier quality, reducing waste, and ensuring product conformance to specification and performance standards.


ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Provide quality leadership for value stream/ product line including quality systems, data analysis, project prioritization and project management

  • Effective oral and written communication and ability to gain alignment with leadership
  • Foster team involvement toward quality improvements by engaging production personnel
  • Possess ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving
  • PDCA, A3, DOE, 5-Why, Fish Bone Diagram, Lean Sigma, DMAIC
  • Expertise in both using and coaching others in approaches
  • Strong knowledge of quality management and lean manufacturing principles
  • Improve supplier performance utilizing non-conforming material processes, CAPA, and supplier development
  • Document control, product and process qualification, and audit processes
  • Error Proofing, Eyes for Waste, Visual Management
  • Ability to gather and analyze data through statistical techniques
  • Perform and analyze process capability studies
  • Experience implementing process control charting
  • Usage of computer software tools, such as Excel or Minitab, to analyze data to detect trends and abnormalities
  • Working knowledge of measurement tools and systems
  • Understand tolerance stack up and relation to process capability
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards and convert into manufacturing control plans

Qualifications
4 year degree in Technology/Engineering

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Self-driven with tolerance for ambiguity
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and capital projects to improve quality
  • Certified Quality Engineer or ability to become certified
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing knowledge
