The Phoenix lab is looking to hire a full time research associate (RA). The research associate will participate in everyday laboratory needs, and assist in performing routine scientific experiments. Basic lab needs include: maintaining inventory of reagents, ordering, sterilizing lab material / tools, maintenance and organization of mouse colonies. Experience in lab techniques are a plus, but not required as training will be provided. Routine techniques include sterile cell culture, small animal/mouse handling and injection techniques, molecular biology (i.e. PCR), tissue sectioning and histology.

 

About the Phoenix Lab – located in the UC College of Pharmacy, the Phoenix lab studies pediatric brain tumors, which are the lead cause of cancer related deaths in children. The lab investigates the mechanisms responsible for tumor development, and tests promising new therapies that may be translated into clinical trials.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, cancer biology or related field.
