Job Summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Clinical Pharmacology Department is seeking a summer intern (graduate level) to conduct PK and PK/PD analyses and communicate results to internal teams. The Clinical Pharmacology summer intern will be involved in projects supporting research and development including:

  • Conduct of NCA analyses of clinical trial data
  • Conduct composite PK analyses
  • Analyses of concomitant medication use in clinical trials
  • Preparation of basic clinical pharmacology course for NON-PK scientists
  • Research and analysis of literature data for select rare disease
  • Conduct basic statistical analyses

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing analysis in Phoenix Win-nonlin and similar tools.
  • Search, summarize and present literature topics of interest to project.
  • Prepare poster/written presentations summarizing work for internal presentation.
  • Performing basic statistical analyses including linear regression

Minimum Qualifications

  • At a minimum, must be currently enrolled (and continuing in fall 2019) as a graduate student (Pharmaceutical sciences, Pharmacometrics, Clinical pharmacology, and pharmacy).
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of drug metabolism and PK/PD principles.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be highly-motivated and have an excellent work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on skills with PK and PK/PD non-compartmental analysis.
  • Basic experience with PBPK modeling (e.g Gastroplus)
  • Basic experience with R is a plus
