Job Location: Atlanta, GA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Will assist the Department Head in preparing proposals, estimates, presentations, employee evaluations, and the recruiting process
  • Coordinates with office staff and clients as required.
  • Must have project management experience
  • Participate in pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, resident engineers, and contractor representatives.
  • Proficiency in CAD, Least Squares Reduction and other Survey Software
  • Experience with GIS platforms is desirable
  • Experience with Robotic Total Stations, GPS (including post processing).
  • Experience with scanners, drones, and other emerging technologies is desirable
  • Should be registered in Georgia or the ability to become registered within a year as a Land Surveyor.
  • A demonstrated record of success on ALTA, database, large boundaries, stream, topographical, inventories, and other types of surveys
  • GDOT experience is desirable

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of land surveying - Standard of Practice for Land Surveying in the State of Georgia.
  • Education/Experience:
    • Three to five years of experience as a certified Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Surveyor in Training (SIT)
  • Possess a good general knowledge of land surveying principles and practices and a thorough knowledge of field/construction surveying practices
  • Ability and willingness to assist engineers, designers, drafters, and other staff members
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle driver’s license is required.
  • Must be a self-starter with minimum supervision and the ability to manage multiple crews, projects, and clients

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Mapping experience and/or coursework training
  • Experience and skill in application of CAD software and Microstation
