Controls the efficient operation of all plant equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic repair and preventive maintenance


• Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnosis, and repair all mechanical and electrical equipment and share knowledge of applicable mechanical concepts/ principles to other maintenance personnel.
• Observes all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment.
• Follows all established Food Safety guidelines and GMP's, including maintaining an orderly and clean work environment.
• Assures preventative maintenance program is conducted on all plant equipment and report and qualify results.
• Perform welding, cutting, and soldering using electric and gas equipment.
• Reading equipment manuals, blueprints, and other sources of information to build knowledge, and assure appropriate operation and repair of equipment.
• Provides emergency/ unscheduled repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime
• Communicate effectively with outside vendors and equipment manufacturers
• Inform the appropriate facility personnel/ supervisor of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions that would effect there area of operation.
• Monitor, complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed
• Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by team leader
• Assists in orientation and/ or training of associates
• Keeping logs and other information on operating results and problems
• Analyzing information to determine preventative maintenance plan
• Troubleshooting problems to appropriate solution and physically repairing equipment
• Inspecting equipment by sight and sound, and reading gauges and other measuring devises on routine basis to assure optimum operating condition.
• Ordering parts or supplies to maintain equipment
• Rebuilding equipment
• Maintain all work areas in a clean manner in line with plant requirements of GMP, including sweeping debris off the floor, picking it up and placing it in the proper waste container, disposing of paper, plastic or other packing material in to the proper trash container, pushing trash carts or carrying tubs of waste materials to proper disposal area, using a low pressure water hose to wash down work areas 9 consistent with plant waste water and sanitation policies), or using a rubber squeegee to push water off the floor toward and down floor drains.
• Applies all safe work practices and uses all personal safety equipment required in performing tasks to assure his/ her own safety and that co-worker; works in a safe manner at all times; performs tasks within guidelines of good maintenance techniques and applicable codes.
• Applies all GMP requirements, both personal hygiene and housekeeping, associated with these tasks. Keeps work area clean at all times, in line with plant procedures on housekeeping, waste, water and solid management.
• Applies all product safety and quality requirements associated with process at assigned positions
• Identify problems associated with assigned system on an ongoing basis through collection of data, tracking downtime, and personal inspection and determines if solution is within hi/her training and knowledge; if so corrects problem; if not or if not sure, communicates to appropriate resource and resolves with the help of this resources. Know who these resources are


• Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
• High School Diploma or GED required. Technical School graduate preferred
• 3 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
• Must be able to pay attention to detail and demonstrate independent reasoning and judgment
• Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement, and Temporary Teams as assigned
• Possess basic plumbing, metalworking, and general facilities/ building maintenance welding, machining, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, drafting and blueprint reading knowledge
• General mechanical skills and knowledge related to troubleshooting and service of various equipment.
• Knowledge of power and tools
• Basic business requirements such attendance, punctuality good work habits, good personal hygiene; basic education in communication, reading, and arithmetic such as would be learned in high school.
• Specific technical training in general electro-mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, machines wiring and repair, welding, basic fabrication, basic 110, 120, 220 and 480 Volt 3 phase AC electricity, DC electricity, and microprocessors, pipe cutting/ threading/ fitting, boiler, refrigeration, and wastewater
• Minimum 5 years “hands-on” experience maintaining industrial machinery in a continuous process operations
• Thoroughly skilled in all aspects of mechanical and electrical maintenance of industrial processing machinery
• Ability to analyze work requirements, make a work plan and accomplish tasks without constant supervision

The physical capabilities an associate must have to perform the essential functions of this position are:
• Will be exposed to plant production environment, indoors and outdoors
• Exposed to elements- cold/ heat/ humidity
• Employee regularly required walking, twisting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, bending, and moving about the facility
• Must be able to lift 55lbs
• May handle potentially hazardous equipment and materials
• Will be in the plant production environment: indoor and outdoor
• Works in high noise area, hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements
• Repetitive walking, bending and in and out of cold work areas
• Occasional testing of energized electrical equipment
• Will be required to work around bakery ingredients
• Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
• Able to work multi shift environment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
