The part-time Workplace Health and Wellness Consultant will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), possessing in-depth knowledge of issues affecting workplace health and how to translate these concepts into actionable training, publications, and policies. Provides technical and applied knowledge in the planning, design and delivery of training materials for a project within CDC's Division of Population Health.

*this position is contingent upon contract award*


  • Provides technical knowledge and analysis about the operating environments, documentation and implementation.
  • Provides insight on how to affect government policy in areas of workplace health, wellness and research.
  • Creates training and seminars
  • Creates Issue briefs
  • Advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation
  • Applies principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific


  • Master's degree in health services research, physical sciences, public health, social science, laboratory science, policy science or economics
  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with preparing presentations, reports, tables, graphs, and observations for presentation to technical and non-technical audience.
  • Experience with managing multiple priorities and tight timelines.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Proven strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with client , managers and non-technical staff
